What is Home Health Care?

imagesHome health care is an alternative treatment option that makes use of an interdisciplinary approach among healthcare professionals to provide medical or rehabilitative services in the setting of the patient’s home.

Why Choose Home Health Care?

  • It has been proven by numerous physicians that the patient’s recovery hastens when they are ensconced in the comfort of their own home.
  • Home health care is less expensive than institutionalization or hospitalization.
  • Patients can direct their own care and can feel more independent and comfortable at home.
  • Being medically cared for at home means that patients will be surrounded by loved ones.
  • Home health care entails a personalized care program and can greatly reduce any chance of infection or hospitalization.

Who is Eligible for Home Health Care?

  • Patients who are in transitional care after being discharged from the hospital
  • Individuals with a homebound status who need assistance because they have restricted mobility because of physical limitations
  • Homebound patients who are recovering from surgery, living with chronic illnesses
  • Patients who require skilled care that cannot be provided by family or friends
